Overview
The Assistant Manager Digital Marketing plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the school’s digital marketing and engagement strategy. This position combines strong project management, creative direction, and data-driven marketing expertise to enhance the school’s online visibility and engagement across all digital touchpoints.
Supervising and motivating a small team comprising the Digital Engagement Executive (previously Portal Executive) and Social Media Executive (new position), this role ensures consistent brand storytelling, user experience excellence, and effective campaign delivery across websites, social media, photo management systems, and digital advertising. The Assistant Manager Digital Marketing also oversees the planning and implementation of the new school portal, ensuring a seamless transition and alignment with the school’s strategic goals.
This position requires a proactive, hands-on digital marketer who can balance creativity with analytics, manage multiple projects, and motivate team members to deliver high-quality results on time and on brand.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the management and continual improvement of the school’s digital platforms including the websites, school portals, social media channels and photo management system ensuring they are current, visually engaging and aligned with the school’s strategic and operational objectives. This includes coordinating updates, reviewing content performance and ensuring each platform contributes effectively to community engagement and enrollment goals.
Maintain and implement standards for content, design and accessibility across all digital platforms, ensuring that every digital interaction reflects the SJI International brand. This includes developing and monitoring style guides, visual frameworks and publishing protocols, and working with internal contributors to ensure content is consistent in tone, accuracy and visual identity.
Plan and manage digital development projects, including new builds, enhancements and upgrades, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, on budget and in line with school priorities. This includes leading the redevelopment of the new school portal from planning through to launch, managing vendor relationships, coordinating internal approvals, and maintaining clear and timely communication with stakeholders throughout.
Apply user-focused principles to improve the experience of parents, students, staff and alumni across all digital touchpoints. Use analytics, feedback and best practice to identify opportunities for improvement, make data-informed recommendations and ensure digital channels are intuitive, purposeful and engaging.
Work collaboratively across departments to understand content needs and infrastructure requirements, ensuring that all digital platforms effectively support school operations, communications and marketing. This includes partnering with Admissions, Academic Divisions, IT and Alumni Relations to align systems, data flows and content schedules for maximum efficiency and impact.
Supervise, guide and motivate the Digital Engagement Executive (formerly Portal Executive) and Social Media Executive, setting clear expectations, managing workflow and providing mentorship to ensure creativity, professionalism and timely delivery. Encourage a collaborative team culture, promote professional growth and maintain high standards across all digital outputs.
Provide training and support to staff who contribute to digital platforms, helping to build a shared understanding of quality, brand standards and user experience. Develop easy-to-follow guidelines, conduct workshops where appropriate and act as a key contact for digital-related enquiries.
Collaborate with the Assistant Manager, Marketing & Communications (previously Senior Marketing and Communications Executive) to plan and deliver cohesive marketing campaigns that integrate digital and traditional channels. This includes aligning schedules, key messages and creative approaches to ensure consistent delivery across all platforms and measurable outcomes for each campaign.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media or a related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital marketing, website management or online communications.
Proven experience managing websites, social media channels and digital advertising campaigns.
Strong understanding of SEO, analytics, UX principles and digital content strategy.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, vendors and deadlines simultaneously.
Experience supervising or mentoring team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Detail-oriented, organised and proactive, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Familiarity with the education sector or non-profit environment is an advantage.
Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and the ability to prioritise and work independently.
