Your Role
The Assistant/Marketing Manager (8 Months Maternity Cover) will provide end-to-end leadership of Sulwhasoo's marketing function in Singapore for the duration of the cover period, ensuring continuity and momentum across brand strategy, commercial performance, communications and in-store brand experience.
This role owns the overall brand and business strategy for the market, working closely with HQ, retail partners, agencies and cross-functional teams to deliver an integrated marketing calendar, sound budget stewardship, strong reporting discipline, effective Public Relations and media presence, oversight of trade marketing execution, S&OP alignment across channels, and excellent visual merchandising standards across all touchpoints. The role requires a hands-on operator who can step seamlessly into an existing marketing plan, maintain business continuity, and make sound day-to-day decisions with minimal handover runway.
Main Responsibilities
A. Brand & Business Strategy
Own the end-to-end marketing strategy for Sulwhasoo Singapore, ensuring alignment with regional/global brand direction while remaining responsive to local market dynamics.
Act as the key marketing decision-maker for the market during the cover period, maintaining continuity of ongoing initiatives, stakeholder relationships and business commitments.
Translate global brand and category strategy into actionable local go-to-market plans across product launches, campaigns, retail and digital commerce.
Represent the brand in business reviews with Regional/HQ, providing market context, performance updates and forward-looking recommendations.
Lead, coordinate and motivate the local marketing team and cross-functional partners to deliver against shared business objectives.
Proactively identify risks to the marketing plan or business performance and drive timely resolution.
Partner with sales, trade and e-commerce teams to ensure cohesive brand execution across all channels.
B. Marketing Calendar & Budget Management
Own and maintain the integrated marketing calendar, covering product launches, campaigns, retail activations, Public Relations moments and seasonal initiatives across all channels.
Coordinate timelines and deliverables across internal teams, retail partners and external agencies to ensure smooth, on-time execution.
Manage the full A&P/marketing budget, including planning, allocation, tracking and reconciliation, ensuring spend delivers strong return on investment.
Continuously reprioritise the calendar and budget in response to business performance, stock position and market conditions.
C. Trade Marketing Management
Oversee the planning and execution of trade marketing initiatives across all retail channels, ensuring alignment with the overall marketing strategy and calendar.
Provide direction and guidance to the trade marketing team/executives on promotional mechanics, launch execution, in-store activations and retail campaigns.
Ensure retail execution excellence, launch readiness and consistent visual and service standards across all trade touchpoints.
Review trade marketing performance against KPIs and commercial targets, guiding course corrections and future planning.
Act as the escalation point for trade marketing and retail partner issues, working with Retail Operations and retailer counterparts to resolve them.
Ensure trade marketing budgets, POSM allocation and vendor coordination are managed effectively within the overall marketing budget.
D. Sales & Operations Planning
Partner with Supply Chain & Retail teams in the S&OP process across all channels, ensuring sufficient and timely stock availability to support marketing plans, campaigns and launches, and to align demand forecasts with the marketing calendar and promotional activity.
Represent marketing's needs in S&OP discussions, ensuring stock, sampling and POSM requirements for campaigns and launches are planned and communicated ahead of time.
Monitor sell-in and sell-through performance across channels, flagging stock risks and coordinating corrective action to avoid missed sales or excess inventory.
Ensure product master data, forecasts and launch timelines are accurate and kept up to date to support planning across the business.
E. Public Relations
Own the Public Relations and media strategy for the market, building and maintaining strong relationships with Singapore media and key opinion leaders.
Plan and execute Public Relations moments around product launches, campaigns and brand storytelling initiatives.
Manage Public Relations agency partners, ensuring all communications and press materials align with brand voice, tone and luxury positioning.
Monitor media coverage and brand sentiment, and support issues management where required.
Maintain the Public Relations calendar and manage the Public Relations budget in line with overall marketing spend.
F. Visual Merchandising
Liaise closely with the Visual Merchandising Manager and Regional VM team to ensure consistent, on-brand visual merchandising execution across Boutiques and Sephora.
Coordinate VM planning and implementation for product launches, campaigns and seasonal windows, ensuring timely deployment of visual assets and POSM.
Ensure visual merchandising standards reflect the luxury positioning of the brand and support commercial objectives at retail.
Provide market feedback to Regional VM teams on execution, retail environment and opportunities for improvement.
Work with Retail Operations and Store teams to troubleshoot VM execution issues and maintain launch readiness across all touchpoints.
G. Reports & Analysis
Track and report key marketing and business KPIs, including sales performance, campaign effectiveness, retail performance and marketing ROI.
Prepare regular business reviews, post-campaign evaluations and post-launch analyses with clear, actionable recommendations.
Monitor market trends, consumer insights and competitor activity, translating findings into strategic and tactical recommendations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting dashboards for management and Regional/HQ visibility.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related discipline.
8+ years of marketing experience, with prior experience managing a full marketing function, preferably within luxury beauty, prestige skincare or premium consumer brands.
Proven track record owning marketing strategy, budget and P&L-related reporting at market level.
Strong experience in public relations and media relations, with established media relationships in Singapore an advantage.
Experience working with visual merchandising teams and luxury retail environments.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data and market insights into actionable business recommendations.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working across HQ, retail partners and agencies.
Strong leadership and team management capability, with the ability to maintain business continuity in a maternity cover/interim capacity.
Highly organised, meticulous and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Available to commit to the full duration of the maternity cover period of 8 months.
