Business Development Manager

Industry: Computer Hardware Retail, Distribution & Global E-Commerce
Location: Singapore
Employment Type: Full-Time – Senior Management
Reporting To: Director / Managing Director


Role Purpose

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving regional and global expansion of the company’s computer hardware and consumer electronics business across retail, wholesale distribution, and international e-commerce marketplaces.


The role requires a highly specialised professional with advanced knowledge of IT hardware markets, enterprise resource planning systems, cross-border e-commerce operations, and international technology trade events.


The candidate must possess extensive technical and commercial expertise in digital marketplace management, ERP integration, supply chain analytics, and IT hardware product strategy.


Minimum Educational Requirements

Candidates must possess:


Master’s Degree from a Singapore accredited university in one of the following fields:



  • Business Administration


  • Technology Management


  • Computer Engineering


  • Information Systems


  • Data Analytics


  • Supply Chain Management



Additional certifications preferred:



  • SAP Business One certification


  • Microsoft Dynamics / Microsoft ERP certification


  • E-Commerce marketplace certification


  • Data analytics or business intelligence certification



Mandatory Professional Experience

Applicants must demonstrate proven and verifiable experience in all of the following areas:


E-Commerce Marketplace Operations

  • Minimum 10 years experience managing Lazada marketplace operations


  • Minimum 10 years experience managing Shopee marketplace operations


  • Minimum 5 years experience managing Amazon global marketplace sales



Must demonstrate ability to:



  • Manage multi-country marketplace stores


  • Handle high-volume product catalogues


  • Execute large-scale promotional campaigns


  • Analyse marketplace performance data



Enterprise Software & ERP Systems

  • Minimum 5 years experience implementing and managing SAP Business One


  • Minimum 3 years experience working with Microsoft ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central


  • Demonstrated experience using Autocount Accounting Software



Candidate must have experience integrating ERP systems with:



  • Marketplace APIs


  • Inventory management platforms


  • Accounting systems


  • E-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce



Computer Hardware Industry Experience

  • Minimum 10 years experience working in computer hardware retail environments


  • Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of IT hardware technologies released over the past 10 years



Required product expertise includes:



  • Desktop PC components (CPU, GPU, RAM, motherboard)


  • Enterprise server hardware


  • Storage solutions


  • Networking equipment


  • Laptop and tablet ecosystems


  • Computer peripherals and accessories



Candidate must demonstrate ability to evaluate product lifecycle trends and technology evolution within the IT hardware industry.


Global Trade and Technology Exhibitions

Candidate must have minimum 5 years experience coordinating and participating in international technology exhibitions, including responsibilities such as:



  • Vendor coordination


  • Trade booth management


  • Product launch presentations


  • Supplier negotiations

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Expansion

  • Identify new market opportunities in ASEAN and global markets


  • Develop long-term business growth strategies


  • Analyse competitor market positioning


  • Establish new distribution partnerships



Marketplace Revenue Management

Oversee performance of all digital sales channels including:



  • Lazada


  • Shopee


  • Amazon


  • Other international e-commerce platforms



Responsibilities include:



  • Revenue forecasting


  • Advertising strategy


  • Pricing optimisation


  • Customer acquisition strategies



ERP & Digital Infrastructure Development

Lead integration and optimisation of enterprise systems including:



  • SAP Business One


  • Microsoft ERP


  • Accounting and financial reporting tools


  • Inventory management systems



Develop reporting dashboards to track:



  • Sales performance


  • Inventory turnover


  • Profit margins


  • Operational efficiency



Global Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Manage relationships with international hardware manufacturers


  • Negotiate procurement agreements


  • Monitor product availability and supply chain risks


  • Coordinate logistics and distribution



Market Intelligence & Product Strategy

  • Conduct analysis of global IT hardware trends


  • Evaluate emerging technologies


  • Identify high-growth product categories



Provide recommendations to management on:



  • product portfolio expansion


  • pricing strategy


  • new technology adoption
