About the Team:
The Category Manager, Business Development – Supermarket is responsible for owning and driving the end-to-end growth of Shopee’s Supermarket category. This role leads category strategy, merchant performance, assortment and pricing competitiveness, while managing a team of Sales and Key Account Managers. The role partners closely with internal stakeholders to scale revenue, improve customer experience, and build strong, long-term merchant relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute category roadmap across HB, M&B, and International/Premium segments
- Drive category performance through pricing, promotions, and assortment optimization to meet targets
- Align brand feature plans with overall budget and campaign priorities
- Aggressively drive acquisition of international and premium brands to enhance category competitiveness
- Support and guide KAMs in supplier negotiations and overall account strategy
- Provide direction on supplier actions (e.g., promotions, assortment expansion, listing reactivation)
- Monitor category performance, including sales trends and top SKU movement
- Review and approve pricing proposals to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Manage inventory health, including slow movers, ageing stock, and expiry risks
- Proactively source and onboard international and premium brands, coordinating cross-functionally to fast track listings and approvals
Requirements:
Educational Background & Certifications Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management or any relevant study
Experience Requirement:
- 5+ years’ experience in business development, category management, or key account management, preferably in e-commerce or FMCG.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with management consulting, business development, sales or account management (experience in eCommerce is a plus)
- Strong data analytics skills
- Strong commercial, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven people management experience in a fast-paced environment.
