Chief of Staff & Head of Strategic Partnerships
Electronic Arts
Description
Company Overview
At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage play, watch, create, and connect. And increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren’t just places to consume content — they’re places where communities build.
Creator-made content is already a proven part of EA’s history — from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies and tools will expand how players engage with and contribute to our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, safety systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding.
Job Summary
We’re looking for a Chief of Staff & Head of Strategic Partnerships to operate as the senior leader’s right hand and to own the partnerships that are critical to product delivery and global scale.
In this role, you will be the primary interface between the company and one or more strategic external partners, ensuring relationship health, tight alignment, and reliable execution. You will act as a cultural and operating bridge across organizations—translating goals, ways of working, and decision-making norms so teams move fast without losing clarity or trust.
You will run executive operating cadence, drive cross-functional problem solving, and lead partnership strategy and execution from opportunity assessment through governance and ongoing operations. This is a high-impact role for a builder who can combine judgment, structured thinking, and strong executive communication.
Responsibilities
- Lead executive operating cadence by managing priorities and driving alignment across product, engineering, publishing/operations, growth, finance, legal, and trust & safety teams.
- Serve as the primary interface for strategic external partners by maintaining relationship health, securing executive alignment, and ensuring daily operational effectiveness.
- Translate organizational goals, decision-making norms, and working methods across teams to maintain speed, clarity, and trust.
- Establish joint operating rhythms with partners, including forums, agendas, milestone reviews, decision logs, escalation paths, and issue resolution mechanisms.
- Define partnership strategy by assessing build vs. partner decisions, mapping priority partner categories, and identifying key potential partners.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Corporate Development) to support deal structuring, negotiation, diligence coordination, and translating terms into operational plans with clear roles, rights, data handling, and SLAs.
- Monitor market and competitive trends in Asia, including platform policy shifts and creator ecosystem developments, to inform roadmap, launch sequencing, and partnership priorities.
- Identify and surface risks early (delivery, dependency, compliance, safety, reputational), drive mitigation strategies, and ensure clear decision-making and accountability.
- Produce concise executive communications such as weekly readouts, pre-reads, and leadership-ready narratives that connect progress, risks, and decisions.
Required competencies and certifications
- 5+ years experience in Chief of Staff, partnerships/business development, corporate strategy/operations, or general management roles within consumer platforms (UGC, games, social, media, marketplaces).
- Fluency in Mandarin and English to communicate collaboratively across multicultural and multinational teams.
- High judgment and ownership in ambiguous environments, with ability to manage sensitive partner relationships and escalate issues decisively.
- Proven success in structuring and operating strategic partnerships, including governance design, negotiation support, and translating terms into executable plans.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills across Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Trust & Safety.
- Excellent executive communication skills, including concise writing, strong synthesis, and driving decision-making through clear narratives and data.
