Key Requirements of the Role

We are now seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join as a founding leader; someone who can design, build, and scale the entire technology vision from scratch, shaping the future of a platform that integrates social & community connectivity, gamification, real-time entertainment, AI personalization features, FinTech and e-commerce marketplace infrastructure.

You will architect scalable and modular solutions while building a high-performance engineering team that delivers with start-up agility. The role demands a rare blend of creativity and discipline; driving innovative user engagement while ensuring the rigor of the industry’s security and compliance/ regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership

• Architect and own the full tech ecosystem; build for scale from day one to support integrations with community engagement (livestreaming, chat etc.), content, social APIs, (AI personalization capabilities), data analytics tools, e-commerce/ marketplace features, and payment gateways


• Establish and maintain efficient and reliable technology operations, including systems infrastructure, network, data management and security protocols for high performance, uptime and data integrity


• Identify and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring data privacy and security regulations compliance


• Create and manage the technology budget, optimising resource allocation and ensuring cost-effective solutions


• Represent the company to investors, partners, and strategic stakeholders as the voice of technology and innovation


• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, streaming, and Web3) to enhance user value, scalability, and defensibility

Execution & Delivery

• Lead early MVP development; select technology stack, establish DevOps, and deliver the first live environment


• Drive agile sprints, product cycles, and rapid iterations in collaboration with product team


• Implement real-time data pipelines, predictive analytics, and AI-driven personalization engines to enhance engagement


• Develop modular APIs enabling seamless expansion into new verticals or markets

Team Leadership

• Build, inspire, and retain top-tier engineering and data talent; lead by example with a hands-on approach to building and problem-solving


• Foster a culture of speed, ownership, and innovation, balanced with compliance discipline and technical excellence


• Strengthen cross-functional collaboration to drive aligned, high-impact execution

Ideal Candidate

• Visionary technologist with founder’s mindset and entrepreneurial drive


• Proven experience building and scaling products from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 100, ideally as a Founding Engineer, VP Engineering or CTO in a fast growth start-up


• Experience in distributed or hybrid team leadership and remote collaboration


• Proven ability to navigate complex technology landscapes and align technology initiatives with product vision


• Exceptional communicator able to bridge product, engineering, and business strategy

Skills & Technical Expertise

• A master’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field


• Hands-on experience with scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), APIs, microservices, and modern frameworks


• Background in consumer technology or multi-regional platform builds (digital entertainment ecosystems, social platform, iGaming, FinTech)


• Strong understanding of payments architecture, real-time systems, and transaction security
