The e-commerce data science team aims to maximize the efficiency of e-commerce transactions through quantitative techniques such as mathematical statistics and machine learning. At the same time, we are committed to building a more diverse, inclusive, candid and efficient working atmosphere. We sincerely invite excellent data scientists to join us in building a first-class e-commerce platform. Responsibilities
- Data Science Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing data science team for the governance side globally , providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Help elevate the analysis of the team from "data upon request" to truly driving new insight, identifying new opportunities, and helping craft solutions through data;
- Partner with other TikTok Shop Data Science teams, Data Engineering teams globally, and other GNE Data Science teams across the world;
- Improve data accessibility for GNE governance teams; increasing data understanding, improving dashboard availability and insight, etc.
- Data-Driven Decision
Making: Develop and implement data-driven decision-making frameworks. Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies and recommendations for senior management;
- Team Management & Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of data scientists and analysts.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment;
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., marketing, sales, product development) to ensure alignment on strategic goals and data-driven initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Substantial data and analytics experience: Master's degree or above in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics) or a related field with significant data science experience;
- 5+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, with a proven track record of success in driving business growth through data-driven insights; 2+ leadership experience;
- Expertise in various statistical modeling techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools;
- Proficient in SQL/Hive/Python or R, experienced in massive data manipulation, machine learning & modeling;
- Solid technical & knowledge of A/B testing methodologies, can consistently explore and find the best practice;
- Insightful data sense and rigorous logical mindset, capable of providing systematic approaches to solve business problems;
- Strong business orientation: Deep understanding of the e-commerce market, including its unique cultural, economic, and technological landscape.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An PhD or MBA is a plus;
- Experience in Governance or E-Commerce area is a plus.
