Job Summary



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced  Digital Currencies Engineering Lead to join our Technology team. This is a techno-functional role with a strong emphasis on engineering leadership. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in integrating stablecoins and tokenized deposits into the bank’s existing payment infrastructure, working end-to-end across multiple domains.


The role requires a deep understanding of payments technology and blockchain platforms, combined with the ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The candidate will collaborate with product teams, enterprise architects, and engineering teams to deliver innovative digital currency solutions that align with the bank’s target architecture and strategic goals.


The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical expertise, engineering leadership, and payments functional knowledge, with the ability to write and drive end-to-end solution intents, guide teams on detailed implementation requirements, and evangelize digital currencies across the organization.





Key Responsibilities


•    Engineering Leadership and Solution Design:
o    Lead the technical design and integration of stablecoins and tokenized deposits into the bank’s payment infrastructure.
o    Develop end-to-end solution intents for new digital currency products, ensuring alignment with the bank’s target architecture and engineering standards.
o    Make technical decisions on architecture, frameworks, and tools to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
o    Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solutions are implemented effectively and meet quality standards.
•    Hands-On Technical Contributions:
o    Provide hands-on guidance to engineering teams during the design, development, and deployment phases.
o    Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they align with enterprise architecture principles and best practices.
o    Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions to overcome challenges.
•    Techno-Functional Leadership:
o    Act as the interface between product teams and technology teams, translating business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
o    Guide domain teams on the detailed technical and functional requirements underpinning the solution intents.
o    Ensure seamless integration of digital currency solutions across multiple domains, including core banking, payments, and treasury systems.



•    Stakeholder Collaboration:
o    Collaborate with product teams to understand business needs and define technical solutions that meet those needs.
o    Partner with enterprise architects to ensure solutions align with the bank’s enterprise architecture principles and standards.
o    Work closely with engineering teams to oversee the implementation of digital currency solutions.
•    Evangelism and Thought Leadership:
o    Act as a digital currencies evangelist within the bank, promoting awareness and understanding of stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and their potential impact on the financial ecosystem.
o    Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in digital currencies, blockchain, and payments, and their implications for the bank.
o    Represent the bank in internal and external forums to showcase the bank’s digital currency initiatives.
•    Governance and Compliance:
o    Ensure all digital currency solutions comply with regulatory, security, and operational risk requirements.
o    Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to address emerging regulatory challenges related to digital currencies.
•    Continuous Improvement:
o    Identify opportunities to enhance the bank’s payment infrastructure to better support digital currency products.
o    Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and frameworks to improve scalability, efficiency, and resilience.

Our Ideal Candidate



  • 10+ years of experience in payments technology, solution architecture, or related roles.

  • Strong knowledge of blockchain platforms and products (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger, Kaleido)

  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience in stablecoins, and tokenized deposits.

  • Hands-on experience with payment systems and core banking infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in designing and delivering end-to-end solutions for complex, multi-domain systems.

  • Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks and principles.

  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality delivery.

  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues during development and deployment.

  • Ability to make critical technical decisions and balance trade-offs between scalability, performance, and cost.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Passion for digital currencies and the ability to inspire others to embrace innovation.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 




Role Specific Technical Competencies



  • Payments domain knowledge 

  • Deep understanding of payments (e.g., RTGS, ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022) and digital currency use cases.

  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for digital currencies and payments.
