The Role
We're looking for a versatile, commercially sharp Assistant E-commerce Manager to run and grow our online business across every channel. This is a broad, hands-on role.
You'll set pricing off real market and stock data, drive how easily customers find us across search and marketplaces, manage platform partnerships, lead a team of around ten, and keep pushing the operation to be faster, leaner, and more automated — while laying the groundwork to scale regionally.
Key Responsibilities
• Pricing & Commercial Decisions: Set and adjust selling prices across channels using market and competitor analysis together with stock and demand forecasting. Keep pricing competitive, data-led, and healthy on margin — applied consistently across marketplaces and Carousell.
• Discoverability & Ranking: Own how easily customers find us: SEO on our own site, generative-engine and AI-search visibility (GEO), marketplace search ranking, and Google Maps and local ranking. Turn visibility into traffic and sales.
• Channel & Marketplace Management: Run the day-to-day across our webstore, Carousell, and the major marketplaces (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop) — listings, content, and performance.
• Partnerships: Build and manage e-commerce partnerships, working closely with marketplace account managers and platform programmes to unlock campaigns, features, and growth levers.
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of around ten across pricing, listings, inventory, Carousell, campaigns, SEO, retention, and AI operations. Set priorities, coach your people, and keep everyone accountable.
• Automation & Workflow Optimisation: Continuously automate and streamline current workflows — with your AI Operations executive and the Tech & AI line — so the team scales output without scaling headcount.
• Regional Scaling: Help extend the operation into regional markets, adapting channels, pricing, and listings for new territories.
• Tools & Budget: Manage the e-commerce and marketing tools stack and the associated budgets, making sure spend delivers a clear return.
• Targets & Reporting: Deliver the revenue, margin, and growth targets set with the Marketing Director, and keep a clear, honest reporting rhythm.
Requirements
• Experience: 3–6 years in e-commerce or online retail, with a mix of commercial, operational, and team-leadership exposure.
• Commercial & Analytical: Comfortable with pricing, competitor and market analysis, and stock or demand forecasting; you make decisions from data.
• Discoverability Know-How: Working knowledge of SEO and marketplace ranking, and ideally GEO and local or Maps ranking.
• Channel Expertise: Hands-on across marketplaces (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop), Carousell, and an own-webstore platform such as Shopify or WooCommerce.
• Leadership: Able to lead and develop a sizeable, largely remote team.
• Automation Mindset: Uses AI and automation tools to optimise workflows; keen to run an automation-first operation.
• Budget-Aware: Comfortable owning tools and budgets, and answering for the return.
• Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-moving, broad role, and is up for regional expansion.
