Job Description


We are seeking a visionary Head of Creative to establish and drive our overall marketing creative strategies. This role leads and transforms a dynamic team of highly skilled visual communication designers and copywriters to navigate the ever-evolving digital media landscape, ensuring our creative output is impactful, cohesive, and aligned with the brand’s growth objectives.


Key Responsibilities


Creative Strategy Development



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive creative strategy that aligns with the company’s overarching goals and brand vision.


  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate bold, innovative ideas for marketing campaigns, product launches, and promotional events.


  • Be a master in media production, continuously exploring new tools and technologies, including generative AI, to push the boundaries of creative output.



Team Leadership and Management



  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture that encourages creative excellence, growth, and continuous improvement.


  • Uplift the quality of creative feedback, ensuring it is constructive and enables growth across all team levels.


  • Facilitate a cross-functional working environment that promotes alignment and collaboration across departments, balancing quality and speed of delivery.



Brand Management



  • Ensure all creative work reflects and reinforces the brand’s voice, tone, and visual identity.


  • Lead initiatives that evolve the brand identity where relevant, while remaining true to its core essence.


  • Maintain consistency in brand messaging across all channels and user touchpoints.



Project Management



  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, budget alignment, and high-quality output.


  • Define clear project milestones, timelines, and budgets.


  • Implement efficient workflows, resource planning, and creative intake processes for scalability.



Collaboration and Communication



  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to align creative strategies with business goals.


  • Be a thought partner to Local Heads of Marketing and Campaign teams in shaping communication strategies that resonate with users.


  • Present creative concepts and campaign ideas to senior leadership with clarity and rationale.



Structure and Operational Excellence



  • Adhere to and uphold company processes while shaping the structure of work within the creative team.


  • Define and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal coordination practices to ensure seamless project execution.


  • Drive operational excellence across the team by establishing clear documentation, tracking, and communication protocols.



Market Research and Trend Analysis



  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies, particularly within the travel and digital sectors.


  • Translate insights and best practices into innovative and relevant creative executions.



Performance Metrics and Reporting



  • Define KPIs and success metrics for creative campaigns and initiatives.


  • Monitor performance and optimize based on data, feedback, and business outcomes.



Vendor and Agency Management



  • Manage relationships with external creative partners including agencies, production houses, and freelancers.


  • Ensure external work is aligned with internal standards and integrates seamlessly into the broader creative ecosystem.



Specific Creative Development Responsibilities



  • Manage and mentor Creative Directors to uphold and elevate the creative bar across projects.


  • Guide the Brand Identity Lead and Creative Design Leads to ensure coherence and consistency in voice and experience across all user-facing channels.


  • Analyze the team’s strengths, development areas, and passions, and assign team members to roles that optimize performance, engagement, and growth.


  • Champion scalable workflows and define best practices that support speed without compromising quality.


  • Build strong relationships and foster seamless collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Brand, Product Design, and other key stakeholders.


  • Lead coordination and collaboration with creative peers across our offices in Southeast Asia.

Requirements




  • Minimum of 10 years of communication design/marketing/advertising/production experience, preferably from start-up or high growth companies


  • Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience in a management or leadership role


  • Possess strong expertise in tailoring communication design, preferably coming from a in-house background with visual design and/or copywriting skill


  • Strong comprehension and past experiences of managing diverse multi national marketing & communication landscape and the trends


  • Ability to direct creative teams including visual communication designers, copywriters, motion graphic designers, story visualizers.


  • Mastery of conceptual thinking skills, project concept creation, translating business objectives into brand communication strategy


  • Strong leadership skills, constructive, fearless, driven, can-do attitude, strong work ethic, committed to a vision even under pressure


  • Successful experiences working with and selling ideas to stakeholders, articulate with good negotiation skill and convincingness


  • Strong time management and creative resource management capabilities


  • Has demonstrated ability to direct and multi-task effectively under pressure


  • Capability to advocate the importance of high quality engaging brand communication across Traveloka by outlining and demonstrating its many benefits to business performance
