Head of Product

Gift Market is seeking a high-caliber Head of Product to spearhead our product strategy and procurement operations. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring a unique blend of commercial intuition, numerical precision, and aesthetic judgment.

The successful candidate will take full ownership of our product lifecycle—from global sourcing and supply chain management to the visual presentation and marketability of our catalog. As a key business partner to the management and sales teams, you will be responsible for ensuring our merchandise is both trend-setting and highly profitable.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and professionalize the product team, fostering a culture of high performance and operational excellence.

• Streamline workflows between sourcing, inventory management, and data entry to ensure accuracy in our internal systems.

• Exercise a sharp "merchandising eye" to select products and oversee visual assets (photography and presentation) that maximize market appeal.

• Proactively identify emerging market shifts and product innovations to maintain a competitive edge in the corporate gifting landscape.

• Monitoring margins, landed costs, and SKU-level performance.

• Support the sales team with expert product recommendations and cost-effective alternatives to secure high-value contracts.

• Lead decisions on product assortment—identifying new trends to onboard while managing the phase-out of slow-moving or discontinued stock to optimize turnover.

• Manage and expand a robust network of local and international suppliers (specifically within China and ASEAN).

• Source and manage local and international suppliers (specifically China/ASEAN). Lead negotiations regarding pricing, MOQs, and technical specifications.

Experience and Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in any field; however, we value relevant industry experience and a proven track record above formal qualifications.

• Demonstrated experience in international procurement and vendor management.

• A proven ability to work with a high degree of independence. We are looking for someone who treats their portfolio as their own business and takes full initiative for its success.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex costing and inventory data effectively.

• A good sense of how to market products visually to enhance their appeal to corporate customers.
  

Note: Candidates with strong experience but fewer years in leadership may be considered for a managerial role. The final title and remuneration package will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and depth of experience.
