Summary
The Merchandise Planning, Executive is responsible for managing and optimizing in-store space through the development, execution, and governance of planograms and the annual Space, Range, Display (SRD) process. This role ensures the accurate allocation of space of assigned categories to respective supermarkets through well-designed planograms. This individual will also provide subject matter expert advice to internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvements in space planning effectiveness.
Role Description
Ensure planograms are always up to date
Ensure timely planogram roll out and modules update
Set Critical Path for Team Members on various projects
Gather and share insights to support opportunities for space planning improvements
Review sales analysis and space performance of categories to create efficiently optimised planograms to maximise sales and profit
Ensure consistency of product range across all store’s clusters
Ensure Assortment IDs are tagged to the correct site as to avoid store replenishment and scanning issues at checkout.
Adhere to the general Merchandising Principles and guidelines (Sub-Category Flow, Good Better Best, Own Brand, Customer Decision Tree, Alignment of Need States, Product Status, Days Of Supply, Case On Shelf)
Manage the annual Space, Range, Display (SRD) process, reporting accurately on the efficiency of all in store space and building the annual plans to reflect latest performance, consumer needs and category growth plans
Provide regular updates on SRD team member performance
Ensure all stakeholders are involved in the SRD process and aware of the key timelines
Maintain accurate and up to date customer decision trees for responsible categories ensuring that they are updated regularly
Manage the overall range review process in line with the category teams ensuring that all range reviews are signed off in a robust manner and all planograms are built and signed off
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
Diploma or Degree in any discipline.
1 - 2 years of experience in space planning, planograms, merchandising, preferably within FMCG and retail industry.
Hands-on experience executing Space, Range Display (SRD) or range review process.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve space efficiency which translates to category performance.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
Experience in AutoCAD software is a strong advantage
Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
