Merchandising Executive (Product Categories)

Overview

Our client, is a market-leading Regional Educational & Lifestyle Retailer.

We are seeking a Merchandising Executive (Product categories allocation) to work closely with the Merchandising Manager in driving category management, sourcing, and procurement across educational products and assessment materials.

This role manages product categories and supplier relationships, ensuring offerings align with quality standards and market trends. Through strategic sourcing, pricing, and inventory planning, the incumbent contributes to margin optimisation while collaborating with internal teams to deliver competitive assortments.

Salary: $2800-$3,500 + PB + Transport Coverage

Working hours: MON- FRI Office hours

Location: North East Singapore

Key responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate new products within assigned categories

• Manage category allocation, assortment planning, and range strategy

• Analyse pricing strategies and their impact on sales performance and margins

• Prepare data and insights to support supplier negotiations

• Liaise with suppliers on promotions, deliveries, and stock fulfilment

• Monitor inventory levels, stock ageing, and sell-through performance

• Develop strategies to manage slow-moving items and optimise inventory turnover

• Ensure timely replenishment of fast-moving products

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute product launches and promotional campaigns

• Prepare monthly sell-through, inventory, and performance reports

• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay aligned with trends

• Perform regular store visits to ensure merchandising standards are met

• Contribute to the planning and execution of store initiatives, including openings, refurbishments, closures, and seasonal campaigns

• Assist in events, campaigns, and merchandising-related administrative duties

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in merchandising or category management within a retail environment

• Proven experience in managing product categories and driving merchandising performance

• Familiarity with SAP is an added advantage

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
