Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Merchandising Manager to lead product strategy and category performance for the company’s retail operations. This role is responsible for managing product assortment, pricing, supplier relationships, and inventory optimization to maximize sales and profitability. The candidate will play a key role in driving category growth, improving margins, and aligning merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales growth, margin improvement, and market competitiveness

  • Plan and manage product assortment for daily-use and essential goods based on consumer demand and market trends

  • Analyze sales performance, inventory data, and customer behavior to optimize product mix and pricing strategies

  • Manage supplier sourcing, negotiation, and relationship development to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply

  • Lead pricing, promotion, and markdown strategies to maximize revenue and minimize excess inventory

  • Monitor stock levels, turnover rates, and demand forecasting to ensure optimal inventory management

  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure effective product launches and promotions

  • Identify new product opportunities and emerging trends to enhance product offerings

  • Oversee in-store merchandising standards, product placement, and display strategies to improve sales performance

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as category sales, gross margin, sell-through rate, and inventory turnover

  • Prepare reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior management


Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in merchandising, category management, or retail buying

  • Strong experience in product sourcing, pricing strategy, and inventory management

  • Proven track record in driving sales growth and improving category performance

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple categories or projects


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in retail chains dealing with daily-use or essential products

  • Familiarity with retail systems, POS data analysis, and inventory management tools

  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen

  • Experience working with suppliers across local and regional markets
