Our client, a leading retail MNC, is seeking a commercially minded and adaptable professional to join its team. Candidates with purchasing or merchandising experience in gifts, gift sets, lifestyle products, or related consumer merchandise are encouraged to apply.
Working Details:
Monday to Friday, Working hours: 8.30am to 5.30pm

Prior experience supervising teams or managing multiple product categories would be a plus point
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and supervise merchandising teams across different product categories to ensure alignment with business objectives, sales targets, and inventory plans.
Support retail stores in maximising the sales and profitability of assigned merchandise categories and services.
Develop and manage a comprehensive range of products, with a strong focus on gifts, gift sets, and other B2C merchandise.
Stay updated on consumer preferences, emerging trends, seasonal demand, and new product opportunities to ensure a competitive product assortment.
Monitor discontinued and slow-moving stocks and implement appropriate clearance strategies to achieve inventory targets.
Negotiate trading terms, margins, pricing, promotional support, and advertising contributions with suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and business partners.
Work with suppliers to drive sales initiatives and provide product knowledge training to store teams.
Manage sales and inventory forecasting and implement effective supply chain and replenishment practices.
Coordinate with Logistics, Warehouse, and Retail Operations to maintain optimum stock availability and healthy inventory turnover.
Develop and customise product assortments according to the requirements and customer profiles of individual stores.
Monitor category sales performance, profitability, stock levels, and sell-through rates, and take timely corrective action where required.
Conduct regular market and competitor reviews, including store visits, to identify pricing, assortment, and promotional trends.
Maintain strong market knowledge and identify new products and sources to support faster speed to market.
Work closely with Marketing to develop campaigns, seasonal promotions, gifting concepts, and category-building initiatives.
Coordinate with internal departments to resolve supplier, product, inventory, and operational matters.
Oversee product setup and maintenance, including product information, pricing, and system updates.
Manage purchase orders, new product code creation, reporting, and related merchandising documentation.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Diploma in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in retail merchandising, category management, or buying within a B2C environment.
Strong experience in gifts, gift sets, lifestyle products, or related consumer merchandise will be highly advantageous.
Proven experience supervising teams or managing multiple product category departments.
Strong awareness of current market trends, consumer preferences, seasonal demand, and competitor activities.
Good commercial acumen with experience in supplier negotiation, margin management, forecasting, and inventory planning.
Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
Able to work effectively across retail operations, logistics, warehouse, marketing, and supplier teams.
