The aim of the Business Development and Partnership teams is to provide Shopee’s buyers with a wide variety of product listings at the best prices.


Job Description:



The Regional Business Development (BD) works closely with regional and market leaders to support the execution and scaling of key strategic projects. The Market Placement Track is designed for early career talents to gain exposure in working on key projects with leaders in Shopee on both regional and local markets (Heads and key leaders in SEA countries).


Phase 1 (First 12 months, in one of our local markets namely Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, or Malaysia)


  • Working with our Regional BD team and leaders on hands-on analytical work, process improvements, and active participation in growing strategic sellers, improving take rates, and advancing Shopee’s regional business development framework across Southeast Asia


Phase 2 (Permanent placement depending on business needs)


  • Work on key projects, from defining strategic opportunities and direction to launching or transforming existing products

Key Responsibilities
 


Strategic Seller Investments & Management:



  • Conduct data analysis on market trends, pricing, and seller dynamics to support seller investment strategies

  • Support acquisition, onboarding, and development of high-potential seller groups and new suppliers within priority markets and segments


Regional Benchmarking & Best Practices:



  • Collect and analyse operational data across markets, surfacing actionable insights for regional benchmarking

  • Contribute to ongoing evaluation and improvement of regional BD processes, focusing on efficiency, team effectiveness, and risk/fraud prevention

  • Support initiatives and documentation that reinforce high standards in seller-facing teams



Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in any field

  • Internship or Full-time experience in consulting, marketplace operations, or strategy, ideally with some regional exposure

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven experience working on cross-market or cross-functional projects

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to work in a dynamic regional environment
