RESPONSIBILITIES

Pricing, availability and market segment management

·        Effective use of forecasting tools for guest rooms and meeting rooms availability control and pricing

·        Maintain a consistent selling strategy across the Central Reservation system (CRS), Property Management System (PMS) and third-party online systems, ensuring maximum use of availability controls in all systems

·        Apply an appropriate overbooking policy and educate team to accept through qualified bookings

·        Monitor the global, local and environmental issues impacting your city and hotel

·        Assist hotel management in the revenue decisions by highlighting opportunities

·        Check competitor strategy on a regular basis, reviewing pricing and their availability

·        Analyze production statistics and track information to identify potential business and market trends

·        Identify potential new opportunities to improve revenue performance

·        Assist hotels to maintain and change room rates/inventory when required

·        Provide strategic analysis and input to maximize yield

Maintenance of systems and procedures

·        Ensure accuracy of all reservations and other data in the PMS

·        Conduct quality control checks in PMS to ensure data accuracy

·        Ensure that all rates are loaded by accurate completion of rate databases

·        Monitor automated revenue management system, IDeaS, decisions, interpret its forecast and decisions

Develop revenue team skill set

·        Actively develop team members’ skills and performance through coaching and training.

·        Ensure communications meetings are held within the reservations manager and their team.

·        Implement an effective training plan with the team to develop personnel to their full potential.

·        Ensure that training is planned, completed and recorded.

·        Conduct performance reviews with team members as means of motivation and development.

·        Communicate with the Regional Revenue Director on all key developments of the department.

 

Developing OTA Partnerships

·        Manage Online Travel Agency accounts ensuring their compliance with M&C’s E-commerce strategy

·        Ensure that every OTA website displays correct information at all times

·        Manage approved OTA partners Internet listings

·        Ensure hotels comply with the company’s terms and conditions regarding internet distribution strategies

·        Audit hotels compliance

·        Produce channel performance reports on a monthly basis

·        Produce regular SWOT analysis of costs, highlighting any threats and opportunities

·        Ensure Millennium and Copthorne are positioned on the first page of 50% of all TPI websites

·        Use up-to-date methods and appropriate procedures with regards to technologies and costs

·        Build and maintain effective working relationships with key clients

·        Ensure the OTA website adhere to the best rate

Any other duties or tasks to be assigned from time to time based on business needs.


CRITICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

·        Advanced understanding of revenue management and pricing practices.

·        Strong analytical skills. Ability to identify trends through analytics and turn data into actionable information.

·        Ability to translate complexity into simple actional insights. Effectively communicate insights and align stakeholders on insights and recommended actions.

·        Build and lead effective teams, identify and develop talent, be a mentor.

·        Entrepreneurial skills and thought processes are highly desirable. Must be willing to push boundaries in seeking and implementing new ideas and processes that have a demonstrable impact on operating income

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in revenue management leadership roles.

  • Understanding of business culture is a benefit. Sensitive to diversity, with awareness about geographical, cultural, linguistic, legal, financial, and regulatory differences present in an international environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, or strategy.

  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry especially in sales and account management/ yield management/ distribution channel management would be advantageous

  • Team player, analytical, organized, attention to detail
