eCommerce Site Merchandiser, Surface (Internal: ECOMM MKTG MGR SITE MERCH) The Consumer Sales Organization (CSO) is a global team at Microsoft responsible for sales across Modern Life (Windows, Microsoft 365, and Surface) and Gaming. CSO puts the consumer at the center, helping them discover, learn, and buy through direct and partner channels in over 120 countries around the world. 

We are looking for a eCommerce Site Merchandiser, Surface for our Digital Direct Sales team to support Asia region. The eCommerce Site Merchandiser, Surface, is responsible for planning, executing and optimizing online merchandising strategies for the Asia region across consumer and very small business segments. They use experimentation, personalization tactics as well as data, analytics and customer insights to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. They collaborate with key stakeholders within Asia to ensure that business priorities and goals are met. They are part of worldwide site merchandising team, share best practices and innovations, and drive consistency and efficiencies across regions.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Business Groups, Product Marketing, and Business Planning teams to identify product, go-to-market (GTM), and launch priorities; customer segmentation; and promotional strategies that drive revenue growth through customer engagement and monetization for Surface products across business areas. Establishes content priorities with internal and external stakeholders and defines the internal assets required to execute against those priorities. Contributes to planning and execution frameworks that span multiple seasons.

  • Creates and optimizes web customer journeys to maximize learning and buying for our customers.

  • Provides regular reporting and insights derived from analysis of core business key performance indicators (KPIs) and customer metrics (e.g., conversion rate, traffic, click-through rates) to influence stakeholders and optimize editorial content, promotions, content strategy, store features, and other decisions to improve the customer funnel. Performs customer journey audits and ad hoc analysis using Excel, Power BI, Customer Journey Analytics, Contentsquare, and other analytical tools, as needed.

  • Applies knowledge of customer segments and competitive offerings to identify opportunities to strengthen the value proposition, including execution plans such as merchandising strategies, promotions, and seasonal offers that attract customers to Microsoft Stores.

  • Coordinates Surface digital store updates with the ASIA Digital Stores team, site merchandising peers, and key stakeholders including global Category Managers and Site Operations teams.

  • Plans and executes Surface promotions on the storefront, including deal configuration, online marketing placements, and customer-facing messaging.

  • Understands how to build and run statistically significant experiments to derive validated answers. Is comfortable working with and diving into data to find insights. 

  • Use of personalization and targeting schemas and tools to create customer experiences tailored to our customers and their needs.

  • Strong project management, knows how to manage time and get things done in a fast-paced atmosphere. Manages and prioritizes multiple initiatives simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

  • Collaboration with UX design and engineering teams in building requirements to enable great customer experiences. This includes the new features needed in templates, navigational elements, wayfinding, etc.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in ecommerce site merchandising or ecommerce business related roles.

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Communications, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years experience in ecommerce site merchandising or ecommerce business-related roles.

  • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ year(s) experience in commerce site merchandising or ecommerce business-related roles.

  • Experience planning, executing, measuring, and optimizing e-commerce site merchandising, with the ability to design customer experiences that drive revenue.

  • A strategic thinker and decision maker who has a passion for creating optimal customer experiences and driving revenue.

  • Solid hands-on experience with Adobe Analytics (or similar tools) and Contentsquare (or similar tools) to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. Ability to turn data into storytelling and actionable insights.

  • Experience in Site Usability, A/B Testing, Personalization and Optimization.

  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across large multinational organizations, local subsidiaries, and regional/corporate teams. 

  • Solid organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to execute flawlessly. Ability to work across a variety of tasks with varying deadlines and priorities. Knows how to manage time and get things done in a fast-paced atmosphere.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the e-commerce landscape across ASIA (Australia and New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Southeast Asia, India, Korea, and China), including current and merging e-commerce trends.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, required to effectively communicate across global teams and produce high-quality documentations 

  • Proficiency in one or more Asian languages (including Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or Korean) is an advantage to support effective communication with clients across Southeast Asia.
