Founded in 2010, Viahart® is a global consumer products company creating educational toys enjoyed by children around the world. Our products are sold internationally through retail and e-commerce. Our plush toy brand, TigerHart® Toys, creates realistic stuffed animals designed to be comforting companions while inspiring curiosity and learning. We are expanding our Singapore team to support TigerHart’s continued global growth.

Role Overview
Our designer will create original plush toy designs for TigerHart® Toys from concept to production. This role works closely with our Singapore team and overseas factories to ensure designs meet safety, cost, and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
• Concept Development: Design new plush animals for TigerHart Toys in collaboration with the Design Director. Conduct real animal reference studies and plush toy market research to ensure designs are accurate, appealing, and aligned with our brand.
• Design Execution: Create clear sketches and design documents for factory pattern makers. Review and refine development samples to ensure accuracy, correct material use, and proper detailing.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal teams and overseas manufacturing partners to ensure smooth development from concept to production.
• Product Development & Quality Control: Oversee prototype development and production samples, and resolve issues related to sewing, pattern making, materials, and overall product quality.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all plush designs meet international toy safety standards and Viahart’s quality requirements.
• Supplier Visits: Travel occasionally to our manufacturers in Indonesia, Vietnam, and China to review development samples, improve quality, and oversee production.

Skills and traits required

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with the ability to create sketches and technical design documents.

• Experience in plush toy design or related fields such as fashion, soft goods, or toy design is preferred.

• Basic understanding of sewing, pattern making, plush construction, fabrics, and materials.

• Strong attention to detail, especially in proportions, colors, and product quality.

• Good sense of color, materials, and overall design aesthetics.

• Able to communicate clearly and work well with the team and overseas factories.

• Comfortable using Google Drive and general computer tools.

• Creative, responsible, and willing to learn and improve.

• Familiarity with AI tools for design is a plus.
  

Work Eligibility
This role is open to Singapore Citizens only.

Work Commitment & Availability

• This is a full-time, onsite role requiring approximately 40 hours per week

• Candidates must be able to work consistently during agreed working hours and be available throughout the workday

• This role is best suited for someone who can commit fully to a standard full-time schedule
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Monthly salary: SGD 4,200 to 6,300, commensurate with experience

• 7 business days of paid time off are granted in addition to the 11 public holidays of Singapore. The 7 business days are granted after 3 months probation.

• Performance bonus: Annual merit-based bonus paid in February (up to 15% of annual salary)

• Salary and benefits are negotiable for the right candidate
