Cloud Infrastructure Operations Lead

IBM Consulting is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Operations Lead to oversee the end-to-end operations of an AWS-based digital platform for a key government agency client. This role requires a strong Team-Leadership skills with deep cloud, infrastructure, and security expertise, capable of driving operational excellence, managing a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring service reliability within a highly regulated environment.

Leadership & Operations Management

• Lead and manage a team supporting a mission-critical AWS digital platform.


• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with government security standards.


• Serve as the primary operational escalation point and collaborate closely with the client on service improvements and roadmap planning.

Manage and govern the following operational domains:

• 
  Cloud Networking – VPC design, routing, security groups, load balancers, transit gateways, and hybrid connectivity.


• 
  Next-Generation Firewall Operations – Policy management, updates, rule optimization, and health monitoring.


• 
  Endpoint Protection Systems – Oversight of anti-malware, EDR, and security posture tools across cloud workloads.


• 
  Privileged Access Management (PAM) – Administration and governance of secure access controls and vaulting systems.


• 
  Vulnerability & Secure Configuration Management – Oversight of scanning, remediation, patching processes, and compliance reporting.


• 
  Backup & Recovery Operations – Ensure effective data protection, recovery testing, and lifecycle management.


• 
  Identity & Access Management – Manage Active Directory and Entra ID IAM operations, including federation, RBAC, and directory integration.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Drive automation for infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.


• Ensure consistent, secure, and reusable IaC modules and operational workflows.
