Market Intelligence & Data Manager
About the role
This role builds and maintains regional market and competitor intelligence, delivers business and sales data analysis, and supports product planning and decision-making through compliant, automated data systems.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain market profiles for key countries across six regions (Southeast Asia, Middle East, South Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe/Central Asia)—covering market size and growth, application scenarios, channel structure, price bands, major brand landscape, certification and import policies—and deliver annual market reports, quarterly regional briefings, and ad-hoc research on new countries, new channels, and new product initiatives.
Establish and maintain a competitor database (models, technical parameters, certifications, prices, channel layout, new launches, and promotions), issue monthly competitor updates, raise timely alerts on major events, and support product managers with benchmarking, including sourcing competitor samples for teardown and testing.
Integrate order, shipment, pricing, customer, and channel data to build business analysis dashboards tracking sales achievement, price execution, and customer structure by region, country, customer, and model; review new product performance against forecasts and provide structured analysis of field issues and complaints to support quality improvement.
Provide market sizing, target price bands, competitor benchmarking, and sales forecasts to support product line planning and project initiation, contribute the market analysis section of initiation reports, and deliver data analysis and scenario modeling for annual planning, budgeting, and major adjustments.
Define unified metric definitions, data calibers, and update frequencies; maintain a data dictionary; manage external data source procurement and renewal; build and maintain data storage and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to drive report automation.
Ensure data acquisition and use comply with Singapore's PDPA and all data source terms, and obtain competitor intelligence only through public or legitimate commercial channels.
Establish intelligence collection mechanisms with regional sales teams (feedback templates, key information escalation), participate in major industry exhibitions (e.g., Intersec, IFSEC, Security Essen), and maintain the department knowledge base to share market insights with product and sales teams.
