What You’ll Be Doing
As a Purchaser (Appraiser), you’ll play a key role in evaluating and acquiring pre-owned vehicles for our inventory. You’ll ensure accurate appraisals, negotiate fair purchase prices, and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and customers to support our goal of delivering quality vehicles locally and internationally.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate appraisals for trade-in vehicles and direct purchase requests.
- Work closely with new and used car divisions to align on valuation strategies.
- Assess vehicle condition and adjust quotations based on company guidelines.
- Collaborate with Central Quotation and Purchasing teams to finalize valuations.
- Recommend competitive purchase prices for external acquisition opportunities.
- Liaise with customers selling their vehicles directly to Auto Selection.
- Ensure timely submission of appraisal paperwork and proper data entry in systems (e.g., Moby Purchase, iQuotes).
- Maintain compliance with appraisal procedures and handover processes.
- Participate in price review and coaching sessions with Purchasing leadership.
- Average appraisal time: 15–20 minutes per vehicle.
- Provide accurate appraisals for trade-in vehicles and direct purchase requests.

Who We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in automotive sales, purchasing, or technical roles.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Valid Class 3 driving license.
- Strong product knowledge and ability to perform accurate appraisals.
- Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and market trends.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with a passion for cars.
